A victim of the UK censor who banned release of the film until 1993 earning it a reputation of the most violent ever made; ironic when the content is compared to Tarantino's recent homage. A coffin dragging gunslinger uses a small town feud to his advantage but the classic Spaghetti Western theme is distorted when Django falls in love with the tempestuous prostitute Maria.
